By "blue state" I'm just going to go ahead and assume you mean "maize and blue state". The season definitely was a let-down, and it does suck to be playing in the Toilet Bowl, but seeing how this is my only Wolverine fix until late August -I'll take what I can get. As for the predictions: I hope your right. To bad this game wasn't played in '97.
"The game ended on a bizarre play, with Michigan's Chad Henne throwing a short pass and his teammates lateraling eight times up and down the field before the play fizzled out with Titus Brothers shoving Tyler Ecker out of bounds at the Nebraska 13. Extra players and some coaches from both teams were on the field as the play finished."
Now I'm sort of sorry I missed the game. That last play sounds like a real hoot.
The last play was so crazy the only thing comparable is Cal-Stanford '82 (aka 'The Play'). Dozens of non-player were on the field during the last play, and Nebraskas coach was doused with water/gatorade while UM still posed a very real threat of winning the game. Currently you can see highlights at espn.com Click on the link at the right, install software if necessary, sit through the commercial and watch the clip. The last play starts with 2 seconds on the clock. Definitely worth seeing. Not that Michigan deserved to win, but this was (to use the announcer's words) one of "the worst offiated games I have ever see". Among other thing, Mich lost 2 very valuable time outs disputing calls that should have been reviewed automatically.
As a proud University of Texas grad I have to agree with Germanicus that the only game that matters is The Granddaddy Of Them All. I can't wait for the game.

Big Deal. The only one that matters is The Granddaddy Of Them All.
Besides, Nebraska sucks this year. The only joy I will take in it will be to see a blue state defeat a red state.
Not fearless enough. I predict: Michigan 41, Nebraska 20

Hook 'em Horns
What was the Longorn take on the importance of The Granddaddy Of Them All prior to the BCS?
I'm not too fond of Texas, but I'm sick of USC... Hook 'em Horns.
Fearless prediction:USC 44, Texas 30(Reggie Bush,Reggie Bush,Reggie Bush )
I have to say that I always thought the Rose Bowl was overated and smug with its self importance.
This excludes last year (when Texas beat Michigan) and the years that it is the title game.
My very biased prediction (my heart, not my head) Texas 45, USC 38.
USC 35, Texas 7.
