I am reminded of the story about how some disgruntled reader wrote to the National Review years ago, complaining about Wm Buckley's tone or position or something. The writer stridently closed with, "cancel my subscription." WFB's brief response: "Cancel your own goddamn subscription."
Jeff and any other former/current Angelenos: did you ever read Scheer in the times? Is he the Frank Rich of the left coast or something?

Yeah, he's definitely to the left of Rich. He's really fucking annoying in person/on the radio. Matt Miller hosts a show on KPCC (the W-BourgEouiZe of the LA area) called Left, Right and Center, on which Scheer was usually the Left. He was a filibuster(er?)who was predictably filled with righteous indignation regardless of the topic.
I'll say this for him, though: he skinned Hitchens alive during a debate I saw, which is no small achievement.
