How did that turn out? I always can be there about 10 and I have grandiose visions of putting the glorious junta over the top in the final round, but never know if the team is full or lacking.
Of course, the reality would be that I would drink several beers too quickly and wouldn't do a bit of good.
Tables were hard to come by (15 teams!) and Germanicus ended up at a table w/some newbies by the time (7:45ish) I showed up with my friend Debra. we ended up teaming w/some newbies she slightly knew. Moral of the story : make sure somebody shows up 20 minutes ahead.
The place was packed, and I brazenly adopted some newbies for my team. They were a group of 20-something hipster morons. We did well on the picture round, but we were sunk on the SUperbowl MVPs and the Dead or Canadian with Debbie Harry and Chrissie Hynde.
Moral #2: don't randomly pick un-smart people for your teammates, no matter how nice they seem.
The fried cheese was good, though.
