In the spirit of those who argue that global warming is a severe threat and is caused by man, here is one anecdotal case the proves the earth is cooling.
I know one piece of evidence does not prove a theory, but thats never stopped the scientifically illiterate from globbing on (see the stupid stories linking Katrina to global warming).

People need to think of global warming issues as involving probabilities.
Apparently Hurtleg doesn't think global warming has a substantial man-made component. Let's say "substantial" means more than half. Would you say that there is a 10% chance that half of the global warming since 1900 is man-made? A majority of professional scientists would say yes, largely based on the graphs (easily findable on wikipedia).
The consequences of such a judgement is that the temperature curve could go much further than it has, which is also a probability issue. There seems to be a greater than 50% chance that it will go much higher. If that is true, then we should think hard about our response.
Ask yourselves, what do you think is the chance that it will go much higher, say more than an additional 0.5 degrees? What is the chance that societal change could reduce it a significant amount, say from 1.5 additional degrees to 1.0 additional degrees?
